As it turned out, I wasn't out of work for too long before being called back by the same office. I'm not exactly sure why they called me back, but I'd like to think it was because they found day to day duties could not get done without my position. If GTD had anything to do with my positions belated salvation, then it is more important now for me to develop the tools further. I may be stuck to using programs like Outlook at work, but I'm finding more and more free and open source programs through popular tech blogs like lifehacker. I'm almost exclusively addicted to their posts in particular, but here's hoping that I can break the habit by finding ways to put some of things I've found there to actual use.
Below is a photo of a chart I created in what's known as "mind-mapping" software. The one I created is fairly bare bones. The program I used to create is called Xmind, which is fairly easy program to get into but I think that there is a web based version that lifehacker recommended a little better.
I found Xmind took up a lot of memory when I had it open but my new computer handled it well (I may also post the specs of the computer I built for reference, it is an AMD multi-core based system which is working great :D).
