A troubling part of visitng my extended family is using my words carefully enough not to cause any alarm or uncertain terms of endearment.  Despite having the freedom to do whatever I want with my life I still have responsibilties which dictate how I effectively communicate with them if only for a short time.  Often we don't talk a lot because I'm a guy and the "dude has to abide" while he waits for other(s) to make up their minds about conservative vs. liberal.  This has many disadvantages but one distinct advantage is the ability to listen and wait for the right moment to interject.  Monks and holy types know that the word comes from nothing and it is nothingness that often is ignored in favor of the urge to fill up space.  I'll get to why this is important later.
My cousin got married in jamestown rhode island (named after a famous james, most righteously).  After everything was said and done, it turned out great.  No one fought or teased each other any more than what was considered funny even by the butts of the jokes.  When you get married to someone your family likes everyone gets a new punching partner. No one is safe, but then again why does anyone care to feel safe if it just gets boring?

I never feel as open to conversation as when I've just spent the weekend with my family and so was the case sitting in the airport overhearing a young professional girl talking somewhat enthusiastically to a stranger about natural gas extraction. Are you fracking kidding me? Before we started to board I asked her somewhat politely if gas companies have found a way to ensure hydraulic fracturing does not completely decimate the surrounding natural environment. Her response was a flat "no" which I was pleased enough to hear as an honest answer.  Before leaving I told her I thought it would be better if they drilled offshore for their gas and asked if she had heard of SWAY wind technology. After I briefly explained what it was, she said she hadn't heard of it and said it sounded nice. As far as I know she'll probably never actually find out more about what it costs to build one of these versus paying off people suing you for destroying their backyards, but here's hoping:

In addition to these technologies, solar and geothermal energies have evolved 20 fold since the original black flat panels that re-radiate heat.  We can now make trees that gather solar and wind energy which generate energy at twice the efficiency of a natural gas farm.  So if it pleases you then it might be time to stop fueling the flames which are ripping new hole(s) in our collective asses.  And don't say that the science is bunk because you're insulting human history by saying that our scientists aren't smart enough to know the situation is out of hand. Thanks for reading, see you next time...:)
